The archaeological museum is located in the Villa Communale of Chieti. This important collection and display of remains, documents and informative material (in both Italian and English) presents and investigates the prehistory and history of the region during its various periods.
The museum is divided into two main sections: one about the funerary habits of Abruzzo before Latinity; the other presents important anthropological finds which demonstrate the somatic characteristics of Abruzzese men and women during the ages of metals.
In addition, there is a considerable collection of local coins from the 4th to 19th centuries.
