The Zoo Safari Park is the largest in Italy and it hosts, in a “semi-free” state, animals from every continent. The animals wander about in the 140-hectare park among largely Mediterranean vegetation.
The park was created in 1973 and since then it has constantly evolved and added new species. Currently there are animals such as lions, monkeys, zebras, tigers, bears, Indian elephants, giraffes, chimpanzees, reptiles, sea lions, hippopotamuses, rhinoceroses, as well as an infinite number of bird species.
From the comfort of your own car and aboard a fantastic monorail set above ground, it is possible to get close to five continents.
Just a short distance away is the unique town of Alberobello with its ‘Trulli’ constructions and Castellana where Karstic caverns can be visited.
