This interesting festival with the symbolic name, the Hail Festival, consists of a procession of the reliquary of San Filippo as thanks for the saint’s protection from diseases and damage caused by atmospheric adversity.
The parade is held at Castelfranco di Sopra and various groups from the area participate with their respective banners.
The festival is an occasion to visit this town in the province of Arezzo, set on the lower western slope of Pratomagno, which offers town walls with towers and the church of San Tommaso with its Renaissance pronaos. The suggestive abbey of Soffena, with 15th century frescoes, is located outside the town.
