In the last week of July, in the land of Leonardo, there is a charming fair with historic processions in costume, tournaments, jousting, exposition of local crafts and, of course, gastronomic tastings.
The frame for this pleasant festival is the traditional re-enactment of Cecco Santi’s flight. Santi, having been accused of betraying his town of Vinci for the love of a woman, remained unharmed after receiving his punishment: being thrown from the Conti Guidi castle. A suggestive pyrotechnic display concludes the festival and brightens Vinci, the land of the Renaissance.
