Just one hour from Rome, in a hilly niche between the Tiber valley, Etruscan Tuscia and Umbria, the countryside remains as it has always been, beautiful and largely untouched. Oak woods (“cerque” in local dialect), olive groves, meadows and flocks of sheep characterize the landscape around the Medieval village of Collevecchio.
Here we are in the Sabina area, known for good, high-quality olive oil.
We have refurbished an old farmhouse to accommodate visitors who, like us, love the tranquillity and beauty of the countryside in all its range of colours and every season.
You can take walks through the fields or relax in the shade of an oak tree, lishten to the sounds of nature, or enjoy the silence and aromas of the country.
If you prefer to experience country life, you can participate in the olive harvest (October-November), pick fruit from the trees or cut the grass in the fields.
Le Cerque farm, 25 hectares of hilly land in Collevecchio (RI) at 243 m of elevation, includes 5 hectares of organic olive cultivation (one of the first in Sabina to receive “Sabina PDO” recognition), 15 hectares of planted fields, and meadows and fruit orchards. The olive groves are surrounded by woodlands, fields of medicinal herbs and hedges. The olives (Leccino, Frantoio and Coratina varieties) yield an extra virgin oil bearing double certification: “Sabina PDO” (numbered bottles, CCIAA certification from Rome) and “Organic production” (IMC control) .
The Le Cerque agritourist farm is located on a hill in front of the small Medieval village of Collevecchio and offers three structures: an old, recently refurbished farmhouse and two studio units (one created in the old structure and another built ex-novo around an old oven). All three units are self-catering.
The
farmhouse can accommodate up to six guests. On the first floor there are two spacious double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Instead, on the ground floor, there is the kitchen, sitting room with fireplace and a comfortable French-size double sofa bed, bathroom and plenty of independent, equipped outdoor space.
The two, independent
studio units can accommodate two guests each. They have a small, well equipped kitchen, bathroom (one unit is accessible for disabled guests), sitting are with comfortable sofa bed and plenty of equipped outdoor space, including panoramic view of the village and surrounding hills.
The large garden, with its fruit trees, is available for guest use and there is a pleasant area for relaxation and solarium, wood-burning oven, barbecue, bocce pitch and play equipment for children.
