In the Marche region, in the wonderful province of Ascoli Piceno with its Cities of Art (Ascoli, Piceno and Fermo) and beaches (San Benedetto del Tronto, Porto San Giorgio), through the valley of the Aso river , a journey through a flowering landscape with many orchards and varied colours, Ortezzano appears. A town which still preserves that authentic and evocative “live, medieval atmosphere”. Ortezzano has it’s roots in history and art, hospitality and a pleasing small town community life resulting from increased tourism, that expresses itself with the rediscovery of prestigious wine festival in September and celebrated religious festival in June, where in the historic centre of the town, carpets made of flowers are laid out in honour of the Madonna del Soccorso (Madonna of Help). The “Vecchio Gelso Farmhouse”.: inevitably you give yourself up to the pleasure of discovering all the little things that make it a “masterpiece”, something matchless. About 1 km from the town it appears as if by magic, a farm house with it’s century old mulberry tree, located at the centre of a prominent estate, which has produced choice fruit and extra virgin olive oil for many generations. The Vecchio Gelso Farmhouse has 6 rooms, as well as a large dining room, swimming pool, sports grounds, children playground and nature walks and all very friendly. As in olden times, the Vecchio Gelso Farmhouse offers dishes with the flovours and smells typical of country life in the Marches: potato “gnocchi”, Vincisgrassi, “tagliatelle” , grills, Ascolana fried olives, DOC wines such as Piceno and Falerio reds and to finish off, after some delicious fruit grown on the premises, the stupendous “Nonna Martina” , a cake with a unique flavour. All this is an invitation for you, to live amongst colours and smells, in fresh air, to let with your eyes and heart wander in search of the most sought after natural beauties.
