The small, long-abandoned enclave of Poneta has been given new life to become a pleasant country residence for demanding guests who love nature, culture and the good life, and who seek enjoyment and relaxation. At the centre of the enclave rises a Romanesque church, a small jewel from the late Medieval period. Around it there are various ancient buildings now converted into comfortable, modern apartments furnished in the most classic of Tuscan styles. Sitting in the heart of Tuscany among the rolling Chianti hills, Poneta is midway between Florence and Siena. San Gimignano, whose spectacular towers can be seen from our windows, is just a short distance away, as are other small villages full of fascination and history such as Barberino, Linari, Sant’Appiano, and Certaldo. All around there are famous farms and wineries which open their doors for wine and olive oil tasting, as well as of salami, cheeses, jams and honey, all produced following wholesome Tuscan traditions. The SANTA MARIA A PONETA agritourist farm is surrounded by a spacious and carefully-tended park with a swimming pool for guest use and is set within a farm where horses are raised and that can be observed with the owners both in the stables and during daily training sessions.
